I Just Got Rejected From
I was reading College Confidential, comprised of mainly high school kids, and saw a running theme of “I did all of these activities and didnt get what I wanted.” I can empathize with that. But there is also an element of “my heart wasn’t in the effort, I just did these activities for admission. So since I didn’t get accepted to elite university, I wasted my time.” Continue reading

Time puts rejection letters in perspective, says Ted Turner. He received dual rejections as a teenager, by Princeton and Harvard, he says in an interview. The future America’s Cup winner attended Brown University, where he became captain of the sailing team. He left college after his father cut off financial support, and joined his father’s billboard company, which he built into the media empire that spawned CNN.
