Haters, Enemies and Schadenfreude, Part III
I was the first African American company on the cover of the LA Times Business section. This was in June of 2008. I ran into a friend and pulled the paper out to show them. I told the it was the cover. Their dad, walked into our conversation, cut me off “No its not.” And playing off the major press like it was no big deal. Haters, Enemies and Schadenfreude, Part II
Often times they ask me questions assuming my business is terrible and I (and they would be justified that I am crazy) if I made a mistake in leaving what appeared to them as prestige. I take my friend Devin’s advice and I say, “business is incredible.” As he says, it could be incredibly good or incredibly bad. What difference does it make it they know. Continue reading
